Oklahoma State Capitol Dome

 •  2002 Build Oklahoma Award
 •  International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers- Craft Award 2002
•   2006 Architectural Precast Assosiation Award for Manufacturing Excellence

This project required our stone to not only match the “buff” Indiana limestone of the original capitol building built in 1917 but also the material of another Supplier. Arkansas Precast from Little Rock, AR produced the larger precast sections and we produced nearly 4,000 pieces which formed the radius wall panels. All of the precast and cast stone were installed by Advanced Masonry, Inc.

Skirvin Hotel

•   A.P.A. Craftsman Award

This project is a historic restoration of the Skirvin hotel first built in 1918. The lower two stories were covered over in the 1960’s with a plaster façade. In the process, the beautiful cast stone details were chiseled off and lath was attached for plaster.

With pieces salvaged from the existing building and a sketch, recreating the look of the original from a grainy photo, our artist reshaped a model using molding plaster, clay and the original concrete castings.  From there we used Poloytech rubber to help form new molds to recreate replacement stone.  We also used the molds to pour more molding plaster and create several different header sizes and eventually even a fireplace mantel.
